Description
The Brewery was founded in 1367. The brewery has been family-owned since 1879. The owners still maintain the old brewing tradition and the warm hospitality of the Carmelite monastery. The lively mix of yesterday and today, old and new, is increasingly being demanded and valued beyond the borders of our homeland. Carefully selected raw materials, old recipes and the best possible maturation times are the basis for the excellent taste and digestibility of our beer specialties. A high level of craftsmanship and the use of the latest technology guarantee the consistently high quality.

Bottle courtesy of Ekstedt shared @ Ekstedts bock-tasting. Pours dark copper brown with a white head that leaves no trace while dissipating. Smell is sweet with bread, caramel, prunes, dates, brown sugar and alcohol. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter and slightly metallic with dark bread, prunes, raisins, dates, figs, caramel, brown sugar and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is round and medium bodied. Finish is sweet with caramel, bread and dark fruits.

50 cl bottle thanks to ekstedt! Sampled on March 24, 2012BB 07.08.2013Sweet grainy scent. Grainy malty taste. Moussy mouthfeel, grainy medium high dry bitterness. Clear copper color, small light brown head.

Bottle. Pours brownish red. Notes of yeast, vegtables, smoke and raisin. Sweet caramelized taste with raisin notes. Well hidden alcohol.

(bottle, 33cl) Slightly , pale golden colour with a big and blond foamy head. Slightly biscuity pale malty aroma with traces of honey and a mildly spicy hoppy background. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Pale malty, slightly biscuity and minimally buttery taste with herbal and subtle woody hops; bitter-sweet finish with a tinge of honey in the aftertaste. 19.XII.11

At Schneider Weisse Bar in Munich. Pours chestnut brown with a nicely proportioned head and gentle bubbles. The nose has toffee and biscuits. The taste has ginger nut biscuits. The palate is medium bodied with a tangy texture and a so-so finish. Overall, solid.

Bottle. Cloudy dark yellow, big frothy head, a few UFOs. Clove and allspice aroma. Banana, ginger, vanilla flavors. Dry mouthfeel, sparkly, still chewy though. Fruit and spices retronasal. A Curry of a beer.

Bottle. golden chestnut, offwhite head. Spicy roast notes with a good grassy hop profile. Full chewy body, dry sparkly mouthfeel. Chocolate roast finish. Herbal and grassy hop aftertaste. Nice.

Bottle. Beautifull cloudy mahagony with a big golden-brown head. Allspice, clove, pumpernickel and light vanila aroma. Rich roasted bread, roasted grain and spice flavor profile, berries and a citric note retronasal. Chewyyet sarkly mouthfeel. Very nice, one of the more complex dunkelweizen.
