Description
Pössneck is a city with a rich brewing tradition. In the 16th century, the beer was exported to cities such as Weimar. The brewery 'bei der Rosenmühle' was built between 1863 and 1866. In 1895 Richard Wagner became the full owner of the brewery. The Wagner family ran the brewery until 1950 when it was nationalized.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the great-grandson Nikolaus Wagner of the founder Richard Wagner was able to take over the Pößneck brewery again as manager and continue the family tradition, which has now lasted 130 years.

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Smoky-malty aroma. Tastes also quite smoky, complex maltiness. Notes of bacon and christmas-spices. Well balanced finish. Unusual but good schwarzbier!

bottle from Kaufhalle des Ostens webshop. Clear pale yellow colour, large white head. Grainy nose. Medium-bodied, intensive malty base with hints of grain, combined with intensive bitter-armatic hops that adds a lot of character.
