Description
We are George and Tom Jenkinson, brothers and directors of our family run brewery. Founded in 1980 by our father and mother, Richard and Lesley Jenkinson, we remain the oldest independent brewery in the Chiltern Hills and Buckinghamshire.

Located on an old working farm in the heart of the Chiltern Hills, the emphasis has always been to produce natural, wholesome beers using the best, class A malt and hops sourced in England. Our brewing process mirrors age-old methods and our beers are brewed with skill, passion and integrity. We have always been proud to support British farmers and all of our ingredients have a good provenance.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 24 Nov 2018) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with notes of black coffee, liquorice and cacao. Malty, vinous taste with sweet black coffee, sweet liquorice, cacao, raisins, prunes, dried fruit, hints of cinnamon and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. On the sweet side, but really tasty and warming. Very nice.

A lovely porter, this. Fairly sweet, some roast, pretty creamy indeed. Very high on carbonation, that's a pity, but the body does not suffer. Sweetened coffee with a few drops of cream, and some licorice blended through as a bonus.
