Description
Welcome to Healeys! We mix apples and imagination to make delicious food and drink. Deep in the heart of the Cornish countryside, we’re a family-run farm that’s been lovingly making award-winning cyders, wines, spirits, juices, preserves, and sauces for nearly 40 years. Since planting our first trees in 1986, we've grown to become the largest independent cyder-maker in Cornwall and the first distillery for 300 years. Family owned and Cornish born and bred. Whether it’s getting to the core of great flavour or thinking outside the box, we know what it takes to make apples special. And we love welcoming visitors to the farm to discover our Healeys charm themselves.

On tap at different Cornwall locations. Clear, pale golden body with lively carbonation and a thin white head. Aroma has green apples, apple juice and light acidity. Flavor is mild, light, fresh green apple, apple juice, sweet and slightly acidic. Thin bodied and average aftertaste. Refreshing but no depth, feels like carbonated apple juice with some alcohol, pretty commercial style but sure a thirst quencher for the summer.

Bottle from Morrisons, Chippenham. Clear pinky-red colour; far, far too fizzy. It's sweet, but there is a bit of dryness in the background. Tastes of macro cider with a shot of summer fruits squash. But at least you can still taste the cider; unlike some of its competitors it's not a full-on sugary alcopop. Drinkable, but I wouldn't want too much with it being so over-carbonated.

Bottle from LCB. Clear pale pink with light bubbles. Very sweet aromatic peach aroma. Taste of slightly confected peach with a semi-drying apple juice background. However its quite sweet and sugary. The light body in that sense helps otherwise it would be cloyingly sweet. I'm getting a bit fed up of these 4% flavoured ciders now. They should be offering more than just being a sweet palate cleanser. To be fair to this one you can taste the apples which is not always the case. Its pleasant enough.

Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. Pinkish pour with some light white foam. Strawberry, apple skin and sugar aroma. Its sweet not not overly so for the style. Strawberry comes through the most, tangy, light flavour of lime but there is a slight sourness that comes through, biscuit taste in the finish strangely. Light bodied. Its decent.
