Test vom 30.10.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 10,8,10,10,-,9 - 9,26

Banana and clove aroma in equal proportions. Dingy gold color color with a huge creamy white head. It tastes bready, a little salty, with lemon and wheat grain notes. It really craps out into a cardboard finish.

Bottle from BOE 29-09-07 Poured a nice dark brown colour from the bottle with lovely off-white head. Rich malty notes lead me into a luxuriant silky sweet beer, soft mouthfeel and in Loz’s words almost honeyish. Some cane sugar, sweet malts, but just a lovely rich indulgentness feel about this beer, so much better than the Doppelbock I’d had earlier this one was a real winner for me

Mossy banana bouquet with traces of molasses. Muddy light brown with an incredibly thick milkshake looking tan head. Tart taste, very mossy, some cloves present. Very nice hop and cilantro finish. Unique, but lacks body. If you like your beer muddy and dirty like I do, you’ll like it.

16 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy yellow gold color with a large frothy white head that stays. The aroma is banana and citrus. Very good lacing on this one. The taste is a light citrus with a spicy vanilla finish. An interesting buy well done hefe-weiss from julius echter.

Draught at BBF07. Weak banana aroma. Also some banana in the flavour, otherwise nothing much. Quite standard Weizen, flawless but boring.

Draught at d.b.a., NYC
Cloudy blond color; creamy head. The aroma has some malt. Soft taste, some malt and sweetness, sweet nuts, light fruitness (banana and more). Light but elegant.

Pours a dark copper colour with a fair amount of light brown head and the carbonation of a pilsener. Aroma a malt, spice, burnt sugar and a wiff of alcohol. The taste is initially sweet, with dried fruit and black syrup, there’s then a slight bitterness and a definite taste of alcohol, which in reminisant of barley wine, but less over-whelming. The aftertaste is one of warming, sweet malts. Very nice and quite different beer.

16 oz. bottle. Poured a cloudy orange/brown color with a thick off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a malty banana and citrus. Decent lacing with a sweet taste and a nice smooth finish. This was a very well done dunkelweizen.
