Bottle. Light malt aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Creamy malt flavor with moderate carbonation - only slightly sweet - doesn’t have the sickly sweet or cereal flavor that most low alcohol brews. Decent body. May not be a spectacular beer but is one of the best low alcohol beer I’ve ever tasted - I could actually drink this on a regular basis.

Bottle. Nice complex aroma - banana, apple, cloves. Tan yellow color with decent head. Sweet fruity flavor - banana, apple, and lighter clove - a bit peppery on the tongue. Nice full body. A great Weizen - it’s a shame that this isn’t easier to find.

Bottle. Aroma of lemon-lime soda. Light yellow color with small head. Flavor of lemon-lime soda but can just detect beer/hops flavor which is unusual for a Radler. Something to drink when you’re hot and don’t want the alcohol. Pretty much the same as any other Radler. --- Beer merged from original tick of Würzburger Hofbräu Sommerfrisch Radler on 31 Dec 2004 at 12:05 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 3 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 3.5. Bottle. Nice balanced malt and hops aroma. Golden yellow clear color with decent head. Strong hops flavor - only slight malt. Good body. A more hoppy German pilsener.

Until I found RateBeer, I thought this was this worst Oktoberfest I had ever had. Knowing that it is a Helles helps a little but there are better of those around too. Gold color, little malt in the aroma. Thin body, watery and disappointing. Lacking in the malty/ crisp/ dry palate a good Dortmunder/Helles should exhibit.

2004 bottle. Pours a soft hay-yellow mildly hazy with a small white foam. Notes of peach, banana, clove and honey on the nose. Flavor starts out with plenty of bubble gum and light malt. A slight zestiness from the hops through the middle finishing on some light clove and banana. Not much yeast apparency here (which I think detracts from the style) and a bit of a stale, lightly metallic finish that is a touch watery.

Bottle. Sweet berry aroma. Reddish tan color. Cranberry malt flavor with a slight hops bitterness to finish - nice full body. Man I really like the berry flavor in this beer - not overpowering but noticeable with every sip. A great unique festbier.

Bottle. Sour corn/old grain malt aroma. Clear yellow color with collapsing head. Slightly sour malt flavor with old grain flavor coming out as well. Full bodied. Old grain flavor is not very pleasant. Definitely the worst beer Würzburger Hofbräu brews but still not that bad.

Bottle - NIce banana, peach/apricot aroma- not overwhelming. Cloudy light tan color. Flavor is much more spicy but subtler than one might expect from the aroma - cloves initially followed by a mild banana flavor. Fairly high carbonation but not as sweet as many Weizens. Full bodied. Would be near perfect if flavors came out more.

Bottle - Very nice banana/clove aroma - amazing for a leichte. Color is clear, amber. Flavor very light and watery. Banana and clove flavor barely detectable at all but not bad for this type of beer as leichte (or light) beer in Germany refers to the alcohol content, not the calories. This isn’t too bad of a choice if you are designated driver, otherwise stick with the regular. --- Beer merged from original tick of Julius Echter Premium Leichte Weisse on 17 Sep 2004 at 10:50 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 9 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.
