Description

(Bottle, 0.5l, at Pikkulintu Puotila, 20260722) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, grain and honey. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, grain, honey, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste had ht, grass and bitterness. A tasty grassy brew with balanced malty body.

Orange with a medium sized foamy white head that left good lacing. Sweetish, malty and yeasty with a golden fruit presence. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth.

An uncommonly coloured rauch, golden with some amber hints, quite transparent. Medium sized white head, average retention and lacing. Quite good intensity in a relatively simple but clean and even slightly fresh-feeling aroma: a slightly fragrant malty base with notes of grain/hay, a hint of hop freshness (grassy?), smoked notes coming out with campfire and an uderlying cheese-like smokiness (provola). Taste feels simple and clean too, good enough intensity: a pretty neutral malty base (hay/grainy), smoked notes as per aroma, a good dose of dry floral notes; restrained sweetness (definitely lacks the soft/sweet base of darker coloured rauchs), average bitterness, feels like a pretty dry beer, but nicely balanced as a whole. Quite light in body, average carbonation, quite easily drinkable as mandatory. Overall: a welcome twist on the style and a pretty good beer on the whole.

Huge thank you to kappldav123 for this 0,5 l bottle. BB 29.03.26. Cloudy mid golden in the glass with a more than one finger white foamy head. Looks good. Sweet pale fruity aroma, caramel in the background. Taste starts with malty elements, increasing medical alcoholic with pale grain. As so often a Heller Bock can not convince.

400ml, draft.
Pours black, with medium beige, creamy head.
A better version of dark lager, with only faint similarities to stouts.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear, nutty brown with a creamy, beige head. Nutty, biscuity nose. Medium body, lightly sweet, caramelly notes with a subdued bitterness. Smooth and well made. No traces of the dryhopping. 200426
