Description

500 ml bottle. Unclear amber with a fluffy head. Lemon zest, caramel, resin, grassy hops, grapefruit zest, bread, roasted malt. Hoppy bitterness, umami, malty sweetness. Medium to full bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry zesty hoppy bitter finish with a sweet malty hint. A very good dry hopped Kellerbier of the expected Franconian quality!

Ma Che draught, 5/14/24. Clear blonde-lemon. Giant, well-retained, white head. Peppery, with a hint of sulfur/mineral. Sparse, cracker-dough-biscuit malt. Very dainty, floral hops with a bit of grass in there, as well. Clean. Malty with zippy, moderately bitter hops. Bit floral, bit grassy. Malts have a bit of a buttery flavor to them (not Diacetyl). Finish could be significantly more crisp and the beer could be more attenuated.

Be.Re cask, 5/13/24. Clear, honey-copper. Small, white head, steadily to edge. Noticeable but not heavy smoke. Some wood, honey-like malt. Seems clean. Is there a bit of butter here? I think there is some Diacetyl, though it's hardly problematic. Clean malts, a bit doughy, lightly sweet. Gentle smokiness. Light, peppery bitterness on the finish. Rather rough around the edges but has some charm for sure. This isn't very cask-like though. Carbonation isn't very fine.

500ml bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Pours gold with a fine mist, good white head. Aroma bears a smooth malty keller sweetness. Flavour profile is doughy, buttery pale malt with a moderate bitterness. Good refreshing Keller after an evening of tough climbs on the bike.

500ml from Raynville Superstore. It pours lightly hazy golden - blonde with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is bready, butter biscuit, fairly sweet, touch grain, grass and leafy vibes. The taste is fairly sweet upfront, biscuity, custard tea biscuit, toasty grain, Farley's husks, sponge cake, white bread, some grass and leafy herbal vibes with a bitter - sweet finish. Average body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. On the sweeter side for sure but nice anyhow.
