On keg at the Paisley craft beer festival. Nose - golden amber with a red edge and a thick pinkish white head. Nose - delicate but persistent crab apple, cranberry and dry red cherry. Some sour and wood at the back. Taste - elegant crab apple and cranberry. Delicate wood. Palate - balance between sour, fruit and wood elements. Overall - a lovely balanced sour beer. The real deal.

Can. Almost clear amber beer, small but bubbly pale tan head. Airy palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light smooth malts, a very agreeable level of light creamy malts and caramel and toffee that are not even thinking about being over sweet. The barrel aging is rather lovely, light smooth barrel induced oak, fair serving of oaky vanilla. Soft rich okay whiskey soaked fruits, rich and plenty ripe. Whisper of marmaladey citrus peel in there. Light and semi dry finish brings a decent alcohol spice, but for an old boozehound like me, there was no alcohol heat. Bit of a slave to its barrel, but that is 100% A - OK with me, nowt wrong with that as long as the barrel is worthy of being central stage. This one, yeah - qualifies with aplomb.

375ml bottle. Opalescent, orange, bright golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Woody, vinous fruity and mildly funky aroma, notes of oak, grapes, some grape sugar, a touch of honey, apricot. Taste is tart-ish, vinous fruity, mildly funky and woody, notes of mustard seed, grapes, some oak, brine, dill, a touch of honey, chamomile, apricot. Slightly oily, watery texture, slightly astringent, minimally dry, simultaneously minimally greasy palate, medium, soft carbonation. Fairly complex, restricted salubriousness - somehow more salad dressing than quaffable beer.

Bottle, 8.1%. Pungent cherry aroma. Deep acetic and funky Brett notes. Muddy deep rep colour. No head. The flavour has a deep cherry note. Nicely acidic with mild funky notes. Sharp acid finish, cuts away the fat cherry notes. High carbonation. Very flavourful, but refreshing and moreish.

Bottle. Pours cloudy cherry red with airy pinkish head. Clear aroma of cherries and wild yeast, with malty touches. Dry and dark sweet flavour of cherries and sour yeast, with mild touches of malt and barrel. Peppery and dry aftertaste with barrellike notes. A very nice BA sour: well-balanced, tasty and refreshing.
