Description
The Faversham Brewery is home to Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewer - and while 1698 is the Brewery's official founding date, there is clear evidence that its heritage pre-dates even this period. Using natural ingredients, such as mineral water from the town’s aquifer and local hops, our brewers produce Kentish ales bursting with character and renowned international lagers. Our brewers blend art and science to produce award-winning beer we want you to enjoy time and time again.

It is a typical English IPA, the color is copper, average bitterness, malty, easy to drink, regular carbonation, 08.08.16, finding this beer in one coop, tasting it at Lausanne, Prélaz.

Pint of cask to break the walk to the station on a crazily hot day. This is a true English summer pint that is cut with welcome bitterness. And also served at the perfect temperature.

Smell of sweet malt, faint nuts. Copper colour, beige head. Aroma of hops, earth, sweet malt, faint toffee. Medium sweet, lightly bitter. Lively carbon. Pleasant.

Cask at The Crown, Blackheath. Supposedly too low abv to be entered as an IPA but I would say it certainly felt IPA enough. It was a tad on the sweet side. Gold pour. Citrus.

Cask handpull at King's Head Hythe. Clear amber brown colour. Lasting beige head. Nutty malty aroma a little musty maybe. It's a very light bitter. Odd really . Yes some malt very light hop. Almost mild like. A light mild. OK. Good condition

Cask at Royal Standard, Derby. Pours golden amber with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. There’s hops and caramel in the aroma plus hints of orange peel. In the mouth it is quite sweet with a creamy texture but also a little underlying bitterness. Flavour has mixed hops, caramel and malts with traces of summer fruits and tangerine coming later leading to a slightly fruity finish. Not at all bad for Shepherd Neame !
