12 ounce bottle shared by cdumler at a tasting. Pours a nice clear ruby red color with a thin offwhite head. Head retention and lacing are poor. Pecans are notable present in the aroma with caramel and hops as well. Taste is pecan pie... sweet and earthy with pecan and brown sugar notes. There is a slight bitterness that seems like it comes from the nuts more than the hops. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Pours a ruddy brown with little head. Aromas are (oddly enough) very reminiscent of pecans and caramel malt. Flavor is sweet and nutty. Mouthfeel is very smooth and almost oily. For a very light and simple beer, this is pretty darn good. For a gimmick beer, it is very good.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting on 12/4/08: The beer pours a clear orange-brown color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy and spotty lacing. Aroma of lightly roasted pecans and malt. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt and pecan, as well as a touch of fruit. The finish is short and lightly nutty. Slightly above average overall, and finally I have gotten to try a beer from Mississippi.

Pours amber with copper to gold edges and tan head. The aroma is roasty and nutty to go along with crystal type malts and mild cherry hard candy sweetness. The taste begins with some roasted malts mixing with crystal malts and then moving more and more nutty. By midway some malt sweetness joins in with the rich nuttiness and carries the experience into the finish. Tasty nut brown.
