12 oz bottle courtesy of Dansting. Pour is brown orange with a smallish white head. Aroma of pecan nuts, maltiness and not much else. Taste is slightly malty, and a bunch of Pecan nuttiness. Palate is medium and drinkable. Nothing really bad about this beer, just a bit one dimensional (Pecan) and bland. Thanks for stopping by and sharing this one Dan.

Poured from a Party Pig (plastic mini-keg). Nice pecan malt aroma but also with a metallic aroma as well. Clear reddish amber color with large head (the party pigs give you a nice big head). Nice light pecan pie malt flavor - pecans, brown sugar/light molasses and pie crust. A bit light but it really works well with this beer - like a bite of pecan pie without the overwhelming sweetness. Really a spectacular beer - one of the most unique and best brown ales I’ve ever had.

Sampled from a Party Pig (plastic mini-keg). Nice big aroma - wheat malt, ripe bananas, apples and cloves. Clear light amber color with nice big lacy white head - beautiful. Slightly sweet banana, clove and wheat malt flavor. Very nice full body unlike most Kristallweizens. Excellent example of the style - better than most you’ll find anywhere.

Red copper/orangey ale with a moka head. Buttery butterscotch and fruity esters in aroma. Sweet malt with whiskey notes, but rather short in mouth. Lighter bodied. May 2005, Capflu’s BW tasting.
