Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.

We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!

Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!

Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is very hop forward with lots of tropical fruit and citrus notes. Some alcohol notes come through. Medium light malt character with one cracker and a bit of caramel. Hop character has a bit of a fresh, dank note similar to smelling a bag of hops. Pours a hazy, golden orange with a small, thick, white head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers a bit. Light lacing and medium legs. Flavor has a medium sweetness and a dry finish with some cracker as well as light honey and caramel notes. Strong bitterness with some medium light alcohol spice. Moderately strong hop note with lots of citrus and some lighter tropical fruit. Hints of resin and dankness. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice big IPA but it might be too big for my preferences. A bit boozy and sweet with nice hop notes. Double dobis is my preferred.

On tap at the 2016 SF beer week opening gala. It pours a hazy light orange color with a white head. The aroma has massive sweet tropical fruit. Mango and papaya stand out. Sweet, creamy tropical fruit. The flavor is more of the same with big time mango, papaya, guava. Very creamy on the palate and thick bodied. Like a fruit smoothie in nice glassware. The bitterness is pretty subdued for this kind of beer. The maltiness comes across as fresh baked white bread and honey. Very interesting stuff. I hope I get the chance to revisit it later in the week.

The beer is a yellow tannish color and utterly clouded through. Itโ€™s a light color and I canโ€™t even see through the edges. They may have served me trub. Small, soapy white head. Still think they just scooped this glass from the bottom of the fermenter. The beer smells like juice. Just straight up citrus fruit juice. Tons of orange, tangerine, pineapple, papaya, melon, peach, joy. This is one of the juiciest hop aromas that Iโ€™ve come across. The taste is juice. Pure juice. Pineapple, tangerine, melon juice with a little tropical-floral shading. Mild bitterness. Just oodles of hop flavor. Mouthfeel is light but full with a chalky, yeasty edge. Wonderful beer. One of the best that Iโ€™ve had from Cellarmaker.

The beer is coffee black in color. Dark brown edging into black. Small light beige head. Some lacing. Wonderful aroma full of coffee fruitiness, chocolate and a light roast touch. They really nailed the coffee on this one. Dark chocolate with coffee-ish berries and lemon flavors. The taste has a big chocolate porter base to it. Lots more coffee flavor. Mostly delivers on the aroma, just a touched washed out at the end. Light, fruity roast. Mildly sweet. Mild caramel. A little bit of chalkiness. Touch of bitterness in the finish. Chocolate covered coffee beans. Very tasty stuff. Improves as it warms. Light mouthfeel, maybe could use a little heft. Still very good and easy to drink.

The beer is a fairly pale tan yellow color. Little to no head. Just a few white bubbles. Completely clouded through. The aroma starts with a nice big vinous and tropical hop note. Lots of grapes with kiwi, mango, papaya. Nice stuff. Underlying stone fruit brett flavors. A little bit of dust. Some lemons. Light fresh grain. Taste is rather dry. Mild bitterness. Fair bit of hop flavor. The saison feels a bit watery underneath the hoppiness. Again, I think their brett needs more time to develop than they seem to give it. Still tasty enough and easy to drink. Refreshing. Light, a bit effervescent. Some body in there but finishes dry. Good stuff.

The aroma has a big sweet tropical hoppiness. Lots of kiwi, papaya, sugary lemons, lemongrass, tangerine, pineapple. Very sweet with a light woodsy flavor. Mild grapes, apples. Moderate bitterness. Lots of hop flavor in the taste. Light yeasty flavor. Fairly dry. Very easy to drink. Light feel with a touch of creaminess. Touch of chalkiness in the finish. Good stuff.

The beer is a pale orange-ish yellow tan color. Medium white head. Lots of lacing. Good retention. The liquid is quite hazy but not clouded over. The aroma is subtler than expected. Melon, kiwi, pineapple, mild pine, a little lemon. Light grain sweetness. Taste is mildly bitter building a bit in the finish. Moderate dank hoppiness with lots more of that delicate melon-forward hop sweetness. Medium body with a dry finish. Refreshing. Soft feel. Easy to drink.
