Aroma is malt forward with quite a bit of caramel, toffee, tootsie roll and vanilla. Lighter notes of chocolate, burnt sugar and toasted bread. Medium light bourbon and alcohol notes with hints of oak.
Pours dark brown with lighter brown hues on the edges and a small, thin, tan head that recedes quickly and disappears. No lacing and long legs.
Flavor is rather sweet with lots of caramel, toffee, tootsie roll, and burnt sugar. Lighter notes of toasted bread and hints of chocolate. Medium bitterness and medium light alcohol notes. Medium light bourbon notes and hints of oak. Quite a bit of vanilla.
Mouthfeel is full bodied and a bit sticky with low carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid Barleywine with a ton of vanilla. Nice malt notes with layers of caramel. Boozy, but the vanilla hides it a bit. I might like the regular one more because the vanilla is so strong.

Overall, a solid BA barleywine. Layers of sweet malt notes with some nice complexity. Bourbon and barrel character come through nicely. Perhaps a bit on the sweet side.

Overall, a solid BA barleywine. I was afraid I wouldn't like it because the pecans and cinnamon would be overpowering, but both are done with a light touch while the vanilla gets to lead the way for the adjuncts. Really nice malt complexity. Good barrel and whiskey notes as well.

0,75l bottle at freunderlwirtschaft, Vienna. Dark brown color, no head. Smells bourbon, vanilla, nutty, spices, light molasses. Nice to very nice one, rather sweet. Full body, light carbonation. Tastes vanilla, nutty, spices, earthy, bourbon. Finishes light to medium sweet with notes of vanilla, nutty and spices. Very nice one, on the sweet side

Aroma is hop forward and a bit fruity with notes of passion fruit, melon, berries and mandarin oranges. Lighter grapefruit and oily, dank resin..light cracker malt and alcohol notes.
Pours a clear, brilliant, gold color with a large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Moderate lacing and small legs.
Flavor is somewhat sweet with medium light cracker malt notes. Medium high bitterness and light alcohol notes. Fairly strong hop notes with grapefruit, mandarin orange and tropical citrus dominating. Lighter berry melon and passion fruit notes. The citrus notes linger in the finish with some dank, oily resin.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid West Coast IPA. Nice, assertive hop notes in the aroma and flavor. It's bitter, but not over the top and it balances out the malt sweetness.
