Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.
We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!
Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!
Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

Can at home shared with Laura. Clear yellow golden color, medium to full sized white head. Aroma is malts, a bit grassy. Flavor is malts, grassy hoppy bitter, distant metallic notes, more hoppy bitters and perhaps also some grapefruit notes. Quite alright. Pleasant beer.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated April 21 2025.
Aroma is hop forward with moderately strong hop notes of passion fruit, stone fruit, grapefruit, tropical citrus, pineapple and dank oily resin. Medium light cracker malt notes and light alcohol notes.
Pours a somewhat hazy dull, golden orange color with a medium large, fairly thick, pillowy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers on the edges. Medium light lacing and small legs.
Flavor is somewhat sweet with medium light cracker malt notes. Medium bitterness and light alcohol notes. Moderately strong hop notes with pineapple, passion fruit, grapefruit, tropical citrus and stone fruit. Medium dank, oily resin notes.
Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a decent IPA but not a particularly hazy one. This is more of an unfiltered West Coast IPA than a haze bomb. Better in some ways, but also not what I was expecting. Not particularly hoppy in the flavor or the aroma, could definitely use more hop character. A touch on the sweet side like a hazy IPA and not very bitter either. Not sure what happened with this one.
