Schooner at brewery foe their 1st Anniversary celebration. Accompanied by some spicy smoked chicken. Still dark brown beer, sticky khaki lacing. Aroma is light and slightly effervescent for an Impy Stout. Moderate roast aroma with general dark malt woodsiness. Flavor very well attenuated, very light ash at this point (the brewery is slowly reducing this characteristic in his dark beers). Just the faintest syrup malt character at the end of flavor. Some mild-moderate bitter malt flavor as well. A nice evolution of this beer.

Schooner at brewery. The beer has lost that intense ashy character Oakes mentions, which is a big improvement. Still has malt sweet sugars but those are fun. Tangerine hops still present and sweet hops. No roast, light bodied. My kind of CDA.

Schooner at brewery. Clear dark copper. House dusty malt character in a lager. Also a bit of a hop presence. Sweet bread. Too sweat for my taste for this style.

Schooner at brewery. Surprisingly dark honey copper color. Clear, sticky lacing. Aroma is light cookie dough surrounded with some esters and mild banana. Very doable level. Flavor is less banana and not sweet. Not a Saison but a descent, slightly cookie, slightly sweet Belgian ale.

Sampler at brewery slightly hazy golden. Berko is being so harsh. Its way less sweet then his rating made me think. I agree with the candied slick light esters. But definitely way less estry than anticipated. A bit of hop and harsh end. Not as sweet but also a bit too American.

On tap at Flying Lion, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, candied sugar and apples. Flavour is quite nasty, with candied apples, residual sugar and Belgian yeast. This is pretty much everything I dislike about this style - too sweet, artificial and inauthentic. Bad.

On tap at Flying Lion, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out notes of oats, toasted malt and light coffee. Flavour is very metallic, with toasted malt and a touch of coffee. A little too metallic for the style. Not bad, but needs refining.

On tap at Flying Lion, pours a hazy dull golden with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out light ginger upfront, with a light wheaty backbone. Flavour is very gingery - not much else. Pleasant spicy gingery notes without being too abrasive. Good stuff.

lear dark brown color. The way I think of "brown porter" is to have no roast but this has roast, a good deal. Some woodsy malt, a bit chalky aroma. Very clean flavor. Some light malt bitterness and a light non-bitter hoppiness. I wanted more of what my mind tells me this should be. However, that is verrrrryyyy subjective.

Thick pale color. Thick bubblegum and banana aroma but awesomely so. Not the slick stinging kind. Banana walnut bread aroma. Very not sugary yet sweet. I generally stay away from lots of esters but thus did it the way like.
