16 oz can poured, picked up at Flying Lion. Clean copper pour, plenty of lasting foam head. Enjoyed two fresh hops from these guys this year. This is definitely the maltier of the two. Bold flavor with caramel malts paired with citrus hops. Bitter peel finish. Slightly nutty grain. Sharp and flavorful finish. Unique and solid fresh hop.

Enjoyed on tap at Flying Lion. First visit in quite a while. Dense, near black pour with plenty of foam head and lacing. Cocoa like aroma with hints of sweet bready grains and spice. Flavor isna good blend of sweet malt, spicier rye, and milk chocolate. Toasty malt finish. I can see why this brew has stuck around on their taplist all these years. Solid beer here.

Pint at Flying Lion, enjoyed on nitro. Really nice, creamy porter that offers equal parts spicy rye, and cool, somewhat sweet chocolate notes. Really nice balance. Jet black pour with tan cream foam. I have always loved a rye beer, but this might be my first presented on nitro after all this time. Really brings out the spice and flavor. Really enjoyable porter here.

16oz can pours out golden topped with a white head. Nose is nice sweet citrus tropical notes. Taste is more of the nice sweet citrus hops and a little tropical fruit.

Draft pour pint at Cooper's Alehouse. A nice, mostly clean and clear golden pour. A thin, juicy pear, apple and melon hop like flavor. Some papery grain. Soft bitterness up front, but creeps up late. Overall, it's a refreshing pale. Smooth and easy drinking, with a lighter session feel to it. Good beer here.

Draft pour to a tulip, enjoyed at Beveridge Place Pub during the Deschutes 30th Anniversary party. Cheers! I'm drinking Deschutes beer too, but this really caught my eye. Listed as simply Apricot Belgian Strong, I was expecting a lighter color beer, but this pours a dark red, almost purple color. Sweet forward fruit on the nose. I seriously couldn't believe this brew was 11%. Really smooth, and doesn't come off boozy at all. The apricot does not hide itself. It remains relatively balanced. A little sweeter than I hoped, but it's the substitution for booziness here. Dark fruit throughout to try and compete with the apricot notes. Slightly underneath. A really tasty brew here. I don't drink enough Flying Lion. Miss you Beastie!

Draft pour to a schooner at Broadview Taphouse. A mostly clean golden orange pour. Patchy fizz head. They advertise ginger, and they certainly deliver it. I'm sure the wheat is there too, but it's buried. A ton of ginger, garden flavor packed into what is a refreshing brew for sure. A bit one sided, but little complaints from the ginger lover in me. Not much else to say about this one. Like ginger? Like this beer.

Draft pour at Toronado. A dark, muddy reddish brown pour. Plenty of sticky head and lacing. Cherry, malts, and an apple like nose. Flavor is a bit oapery, and leather like. Some true cherry flavor to follow. Good things going, but the construction paper seems to be the main flavor going on for me. Flavor isn't too heavy here. Watered down a bit. Not bad.

Schooner at brewery. Clear slick dim gold color. Flavor really has a flavor ruining hop flavor. I could smell that bitterness as well. Mosiac is a fun hop when people that make it bitter. The rest of those hop flavors that rock are subdued. Light, clean malty bread beer behind that. Why ruin beer with so much bitterness.

Schooner at brewery. Probably my last trip here. I imagine if I come back to visit I won't really go out of my way to get here. Really dark brown color that looks black. Stick khaki lacing. If this wasn't advertised as fruit flavor added I would think it's natural from the hops. The orange is mild, tastes natural, and closely aligned to the bitterness of the beer. Lots of bitterness, not oppressive but a lot atop a clean beer. Not much black from this IPA.
