Sampler at the brewery. Oh yeah, even 5oz is too much for me. Pale beer, very hazy. All ginger, I don’t like ginger, usually I can handle it but this is too much. Could not force myself to care enough to explore past the ginger. Its not as poor as my rating, just not for me.

Draft at brewery. Very hazy glowing orange, can’t really see through it. Aroma is lemony and Belgian candy. Very light banana esters. Thicker body with tingling carbonation cutting through. Flavor is moderately sweet with low esters and a strong herbal (maybe people call this peppery) finish. This really balances the sweetness. An uncitric lemon character, light yeast dough, and a sharp yet airy feel. A really good stab at the style, hoping for even greater things with the next batch.

Draft at the brewery. Aroma is all strong coffee. Flavor is similar. Its like those iced coffee cans. None of the off characters that I hate in coffee beers. Lots of dry burnt grinds. Surprisingly low acidity. Very burnt dry, which I like. Lots of espresso like elements in the finish. I am not a coffee beer fan but this is enjoyable.

12oz globe tulip at the brewery. Strong khaki head and a stick lacing. Can’t see through the almost black body. Aroma is not strong with a mild green bitter hoppiness. A very light black malt (not really ash or roast, just lagered black malts). Flavor is similar with a light roast quality. Slightly tingling carbonation. Mild caramelized malts but low sweetness. More like a schwarzbier rather than doppel.

32oz growler filled earlier in the day. Black beer, khaki head. Aroma is not sugary, not roasted, not ashy, all well done for a porter. There is a character that I enjoy, that is sweet but not sugary, which I like. Flavor is similar. A little slick flavor. Bottom line: not roasted, sweet but not sugary.

Flight at brewery. Good stab at pepper beer, especially for a mid abv dark beer. Not much pepper in nose but plenty in flavor. Comes off as dried chipotle more so than fresh jalapeno. Not cold coffee pepper, which is good. But may e more boil.of the pepper. Some cocoa nib flavors. A bit flabby body.

Flight at Brewery. Headless, dark ruby, almost ruby. No lacing. First batch, so hopefully they can dial in the looks in subsequent batches. Clean body and old school happiness, not tropical , not piney, nir sure what but I like the hops. In aroma a bit of earthy malt. Finishes clean with light-moderate bitterness.

Dark brown. Thin head. Light chocolate, rye, fruity, vague coffee. Not intense for impy, but just a nice stout.

Dark brown. Thick nitro head. Thin, crackery, husky aroma. Sweetish, light body, touch of chocolate, nutty character, pretty bland actually.

Dull light brown and flat. Fudgey, slightly tobaccoey aroma. Thin, harsh. Husky, not much fun on the palate and the rye is kind of heavy-handed.
