Dark brown, no head. Sharp, distinctive roast, tart and dark fruits with a whack of roast. It’s okay for what it is, though I still have issues with dark sours.

Cloudy, pale, thin head. Lots of brett, has a sweet pale malt note, again with a touch of brett in the finish. Pretty good but could use a shot of added complexity.

On tap at Farmhouse Fest, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of spices, earthy notes and light oak. Flavour is complex, with lots of spices, oak barrels and some wild yeast. Nicely spicy, with lots of complexity. Excellent.

Draught, Darby’s Gastown. Hazy amber-brown...nice head but the body isn’t so attractive. Aroma has light brett, pepper, coriander. On the palate, brett is evident but it’s still quite yeasty with biscuity malts. Herbs aren’t as distinguishable, much more muddled, but fruitier than what came through on the nose.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy dark orange with a medium beige head. Nose brings out lots of toasted grains, earth, oak barrels, and wild yeast. Flavour is quite spicy, with a lovely brett character, oak, earthy rye and toasted grains. Complex all-round, with a rather spicy finish. Excellent.
