Another beer I tried at the 3rd Cotteridge Tasting on 20th May 2017. Cheers Colin (Theydon what’s it) for this bottle. How the hell has this got into the top 50 Abt/Quad list? Murky brown/amber body, beige topping. Way too sweet, even for my sweet tooth, jammy (red fruits) nose and taste. Could not get past the sweetness to find any aging or barreling notes.

Bottle at Cotteridge Convention 2017. It pours cloudy deep red - brown with medium light tan head. The aroma is soft, sweet, juicy, tangy fruit, vinous, vanilla, oak, fruit compote and toasted brioche. The taste is sweet, juicy, jammy, bread, toffee/caramel, grape, fruit compote, Victoria sponge, wood, leather and tannin with some spice on the finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Enjoyable wine character to it. Fun stuff.
