Bottle from 7-11. Malty, a little sweet, some hoppy bitterness. Tastes nice, the sweetness is there but it sits nicely with a bit of bitterness at the finish. Something floral too. Would be nice to have this as an option in an Izakaya.

Hmmm. This is alright. Has the usual macro taste in the background, but there is a nice lemony and grassy hoppiness too. Bit of maltiness that is a touch too sweet for me, but it's nice enough on the whole.

Initially a bit soapy aroma, or maybe that's the glass and then some caramel maltiness and light hops. Taste is lightly fruity (bit tropical even), bit of boozy sweetness. Finish is boozy and lingering but not unpleasant.

500ml bottle at home from the local offie. Pale blond colour, very clear, white bubbly head soon fades. Aroma is light caramel, grassy, citrus hops, and wheat. Taste is slightly sweet, some bitterness, nice and malty. Nice and crisp. For some reason I have had a soft spot for this for quite a few years now. Can't really explain why, but it is one of the better macro lagers.

Tap at a Doma Doma izakaya. Dark brown creamy golden head. Aroma is bit roasty, bit creamy. Decent enough. Taste is similar, quite malty, roast again, touch of choc. Quite thick and creamy. Pretty decent. Premium malts is my macro of choice and both are decent enough. Not wildly exciting, but solid enough to not mind drinking a load of in an izakaya.

Draft in an Osaka Izakaya. Golden coloured with a big white head. Aroma is creamy malt and not much else. Taste is much the same. Slight hoppiness, but all in all a fairy nice major brewed lager. Nice malty finish. Prefer the Premium Malts, but at 280 yen a glass this tasted pretty damn good. I have a weakness for Suntory Malts variety beers and am not sure why.

Toriton, Honolulu: pours gold with a white head. Aroma is grainy, sugary malts. Taste is grainy and pretty sweet. Easy to drink, but bland.

As expected. Dale Cooper, on the other hand...

Deep copper with a pleasant white head. A broad malt backbone holds up a sharp bitter hop profile. Some citrus and noble hops to go along with light bread malt sweetness. Medium bodied. Finish is bitter and mildly dry. Was expecting a hack job IPA but this is actually pretty solid. It’s a bit uninspired but it’s not a bad brew.

Apparently the master Brewer's dream come to life. I guess no one told him to aim high in life. Good with this Irish beer-cheese salad.
