A beer with scent and flavor of fruit. It has a pretty dark color for a Pale Ale. All in all a really good beer.

Very good aroma. Strong malts. Bit spicy elements. Dark brown appearance. I dont think it is as good as the rating would expect.

Thanks to aracauna for this one (although it turns out you can find it in Ohio after all...). Thick, slowly dissipating head that lasted pretty much the whole glass. Rather dark amber color. Very complex aroma with hints of caramel and fruit (was that really raisin?). This one definitely improved as it approached room temperature. I am looking forward to trying the Pale Ale.

Typical Belgian yeast-fruity aroma and flavour. Some alcohol in the finish.

Dark brown, with a medicinal aroma, spicy (cinammon, clove) palate with smooth dark malt undertones.

Sampled draught. Dark amber. Sweet, malty, butterscotchy, late balanced bitterness.

Rerate: this beer was supposed to be very good. But during the years it has actually not become better. Much more carbonating, less balanced. Original rating 4.3: Even better then the Pater, the Agnus has a very good taste and especially the aroma, does me think of Duvel, a beer which i can enjoy very much. A nice pale brew, made in the triple style i think. Just good beer! --- Beer merged from original tick of Agnus / Abbey Pale Ale on 10 Nov 2019 at 22:00. Original review text: BB 23/11/08. Al het ouwe spul smaakt uiteindelijk naar sherry. Ach, ik had verwacht dat het door de gootsteen zou gaan, kon erger

Forget Miller - if you're a beer lover wishing for a good beer substitute for champagne on New Year's Eve, this comes much closer to being the Champagne of Beers (plus, you don't have to miss out on popping a cork). Its got a light cloudy golden color with a spritely bubbly head that fizzles out quickly, yet maintains a bubbly mouthfeel. Flavor is mainly sweet but not cloying, virtually no bitterness. Yeast dominates, with a yeasty breadiness plus a lemony sourness. This is not one of the great Belgian ales, but its pretty good and makes a much more drinkable beverage on New Year's Eve than some nasty champagne.

Pale, perfumey, hoppy, pear notes. Complex beer - brewed well. Firm body with light alcohol notes.

The lack of assertive yeast in welcome in this dubbel, as it allows the malt and dark fruit (especially raisin) to show through. Problem is, those malt flavours are not particularly well-developed.
