Description
Noctua, named after the owl which is the symbol of Athens, was founded in 2016 by four friends. From the first moment we envisioned Noctua there was no discussion about where our brewery would be located. Of course in the center of our city, in Gazi. A car repair shop was transformed with a lot of work into an urban microbrewery, a reference center for craft beer in Athens that now acquires its own beer.

Bottle [from Euro Swap 2018-3 thanks to Rouhlas] @ home. Lightly unclear dark orange color, medium sized off-white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is delicious: reminds me of freshly cut super ripe nectarines, ripe melon and pineapple. Flavor is very good as well with ripe grapefruit notes and grapefruit bitter. Along the way the bitterness takes over and becomes more dominant. The Great initial aroma is gone too, maybe it really is gone or perhaps I jut got used to it. Either way it's a very pleasant session IPA. Thanks Nikos!

Bottle at Firi Firi Beer House, Corfu Town, Island of Corfu, summer of 2017. Dark, medium off-white head. Dark malts, roasty, lightly hopped, fruity and earthy aromas, kinda light. Sweet with nutty, roasty and ash flavours. Medium body, soft to moderate carbonation, finishes sweet. It's good but lacks that arrogant BIPA character.

Medium body, sticky texture, moderate carbonation, light dry finish. Malts dominate, the beer is good.
