Description
The Brasserie du Pays Flamand was founded in November 2006. At the start, a common passion of 2 childhood friends: Olivier Duthoit and Mathieu Lesenne, turned into a real large-scale project. The brewery first settled in Blaringhem, on the border of French Flanders and Artois. This is where Bracine, Anosteké and Wilde Leeuw were born. Today, a second, much larger production site has been set up in Merville, in order to meet growing demand. Each brew is a claim to their origins, to the northern terroir, and each beer, an invitation to conviviality. The different ranges offered testify to respected traditional know-how, a search for original taste, and a desire to discover new flavors. The Brasserie du Pays Flamand regularly collaborates with brewers from all over the world, bringing together cultures and ideas to offer you exceptional beers.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, minimally copper-ish, brown colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty and yeasty fruity aroma, notes of dried fruit, raisin, sultanine, some fig and date, a touch of brown sugar, orange peel, some yeasty spiciness, whiffs of alcohol. Taste is slightly sweet, caramel malty and yeasty fruity, notes of dried fruit, raisin, sultanine, some date, fig, plum, hints of brown sugar, a milk chocolately basic layer, minimally dry and grassy hoppy counterpart, some orange peel, some yeasty spiciness; overall well hidden alcohol. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine but efficacious carbonation, lingering sweet-ish, fruity finish. Well balanced, sweet but not too sweet, pretty fruity, dangerously drinkable. Good.

Clear amber brown colour, good frothy off-white head, half-way lasting, fair lacing. Aroma sweet malt, candy sugar, toffee, light wood, grapes. Taste light light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, candy sugar, bit wood, grapes, madera, alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, rather short sweetbitter aftertaste, fruity touch, wood notes. Very good and rich strong ale that doesn't feel that way, alcohol well-hidden, thus a brew to handle with care, very good.
