The beer is a pale, dull yellow. Moderately hazy. Smallish white head. Fades fairly quickly. Fine bubbles, kinda fizzy. The aroma is a mix of light stone fruit, fresh malt sweetness and yogurt tang. Mild peach and apricot, a bit floral. Nice honeyish grain flavor with a little wheat character. The brett seems more fruity than funky. Lacto sourness. The lactic tang takes more of a front seat, but it’s a still pleasant interplay of that sour note and fruity grain sweetness. Lots of nice stuff going on. Creamy mouthfeel. Some body to the beer. Kinda reminds me of Off Color Scurry without quite as much wheatiness. Very easy to drink. Refreshing. Interesting flavor with a good mouthfeel.

32 oz growler. The beer is a dull pale gold. Nice-sized head, white. Just an aside, but the head barely kicked up on the first pour from the growler but came on strong on subsequent pours. The aroma is full of sweet citrus hoppiness, big on pineapple and tangerine. Some pine, blackberry, melon, grapefruit. Good stuff. In line with other tropical citrus hoppy beers, but it seems a bit spicier, maybe more acidic. A touch of simple malt sweetness in the background. Gentle bitterness in the taste. Solid hop flavors. Citrus rind, pine, melon. Very flavorful without any bland bitterness but still clean and refreshing. Carbonation seems normal, though the beer has some nice body. Some mineral flavor. Seems like another hoppy beer with water dialed in right. It’s light but creamy and packs in the hops. Good stuff.

Location: Growler from Hicksville Beer & Soda, 8/25/14

Aroma: It has an aroma of clean hops, and light malts, the brett is very mild
Appearance: The pour is clear orange with a small white head and light lacework
Flavor: The taste is similar, it is medium bitter and light sweet, with a very mild funk
Palate: It has a nice, smooth feel, a fairly light body, and a light-medium dry finish
Overall Impression: I actually thought the underlying beer was a solid, light, easy drinking IPA. Almost reminiscent of a Session IPA from a body/feel perspective. I'm surprised it's at 6.5% honestly, would have guessed closer to 5%. The bottom line though is that you can barely tell there's brett in here. It is very subtle, and I wanted more brett presence based on the description.
