750mL bottle from THE turdferguson, shared on 3/26/16.
Great pour, with a very minimally hazy copper-blonde body sporting a large white head with moderate retention.
After having drunk roughly one billion beers, I’m hard pressed to think of too many where the honey actually improved the beer. Honey’s an odd thing in beer. While it sounds really fun and interesting on paper, in practice it’s not that far off from just dumping a bunch of table sugar in to primary. It adds no body and creates lots of weird phenols ranging from plastics to powdered sugar and other weird things. Here, we get some cool mint notes (not that clearly mint, but something along those lines) with other tropical and peppery notes. Very saison-like for sure, with very light caramel and bits of dough and bread. Sorachi ace adds a lemony-merengue-like character and complements the floral and herbal notes of the yeast.
The flavor is quite comforting with honey-vanilla and bread dough followed by plentiful pepperiness. Love the low abv and the hops keep it vibrant, but I do get a bit of weird, unwanted off-notes from the honey, as Adam points out as well. Still, a very nicely done beer and not Americanized. Tart, dry and moderately hoppy with fine carbonation and no alcohol noted.

750ML, very hazy light orange, 2 finger head, sticky legs. Smells fantastic. Loads of spicy, lovely tropical aromas. Whoa, yeah...I’m really into this one. actually there is some cheap sour candy finish but there’s something off here but truthfully, there’s enough juicy bitterness and lemon to make this a winner.
