Can from Tavour. Pours dark brown with a tan head that was an overflow foamer. Aroma of dark fruit, bourbon and chilis. Approaching full bodied. Flavor is the aroma plus some smokiness and more chilis. Not dry; not sticky. Not bitter, but all the strong flavors sub for that. Malt is rather burnt, but not excessively. Eventually some wood is detectable, and the bourbon turns out rather fine in character. Amazing how all the flavors work together. Except, I just now found raisins rising in the finish. This is really tasty ale.

Roast and some coffee. Black pour with decent mocha head and lacing. Bitter finish. Some caramel. Creamy texture. Light touch of berry. Well integrated. Bitter finish. Can.

Fairly hazy golden coloured body with a very thick, six to seven centimetre tall pure white head that leaves a very ugly lace on the sides with little bit of bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of fresh grass, hay, flowers, a ton of peppercorn notes, a lot of coriander seed and corn with some curacao elements, but the yeast is quite strong and very nice in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Very fresh grassy and herbal notes show at first with a big hit of peppercorn and coriander seed both, with a fresh flower bite and some light hops with a nice bit of bitterness from the alpha acids and a touch of breadiness to couple with the large yeast elements. Aftertaste is crisp, very flavourful with the coriander seed and floral notes the strongest, but some herbal, lemon, grapefruit and yeast flavours all come through, with a tiny bit of sweetness from honey and curacao, but the crisp herbal and very grassy flavours finish this off nicely. Overall, a very enjoyable, dry and crisp saison that hits the marks nicely and shows both a ton of peppercorn and a pungent yeast flavour that goes through the entire beer. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Cary (Crossroads Boulevard) on 30-May-2021 for US$4,49 sampled in my hotel room here in Cleveland, Ohio on 30-July-2021.
