Description
Lucky Bucket is one of Nebraska’s oldest craft breweries, we tapped our first beer in January 2008 with the debut of Pre-Prohibition Lager which, along with Certified Evil Imperial Stout have been stalwarts on taps and shelves across Nebraska.

From our first beer Lucky Bucket has always been interested in pushing the craft market by looking for the unexpected, from using old recipes and exploring forgotten styles, to trying new ingredients and experimenting with different styles.

Although there are some changes afoot we’ll promise you that you can find your old standbys as well as rotation of new options whenever you come by the taproom.

From the taproom, to the bar, to your back deck, at Lucky Bucket our goals have always been simple, to create high-quality beers that people can enjoy with friends and family no matter what life throws at you.

Seems odd that a guy in Tokyo needs to add a brew from Omaha in the DB, but I guess we were just lucky to get this beer. med reddish brown color. A fairly dollop of Caramel on top of modest hops. Med full bodied. Never got cloying like too many reds, but also not overly hoppy like too many reds. Very nice balance and highly drinkable. A surprising brew that I would like to revisit. Definitely a step above average for the style

Pours a fairly thick, oily black with smallish head. The wood and fruits are present in the aroma. First taste was very strong licorice, with a definite woody note underlying. There’s also a bit of the cabernet present in the an underlying sour flavor, as well as the raisin, some coffee and chocolate. Glad I picked this one out to give a try.

Draught. Amber-orange with a fine, low head. Malty nose, a bit of caramel like in Vienna malt, some citrus hop. Fruity, grainy caramel flavor, a bit sweet. Drinkable and nice, but not special.

Draught. Nose of grassy hops, citrus, lemon. Flavor of sweet orange, earthy bitterness, citrus. Very sweet, and then very bitter. Decently made, orthodox, but somehow pedestrian IPA.

Pitch black color. Acidic, tart, dark chocolate and tootsie roll nose. An interesting underlying creaminess. Full bodied. Good roasted character, moderate sour. Alcohol well hidden. Lingering dark fruit and chocolate finish. Very enjoyable. Slight alcohol burn at the end.

This was the commercial highlight of the Great Nebraska Beer Fest for me (there were some homebrews that really stood out). Beautiful deep red beer. Aroma is all natural cherries with tartness. Not sure if there is much actual "lambic" there but its hard to tell with the natural cherry tartness. more unsweetened cherry tartness in the flavor. Not a cheap wheat beer with cherries but not a Cantillon kriek, somewhere in the middle.

Bottle. Grainy malt and lactic aroma. Amber with a moderate off-white head. Grainy malt, lactic sour, and light bitter flavor. Not really all that pleasant. Light body and carbonation.
