Draught at Revolution House, Philly, April 30, 2016.Listed as 7% ABV.Clear amber to copper color, small white head. Sweet, light berries, cream taste. Sweet, berries aftertaste. Medium to full mouthfeel, low bitterness. Sweet, cream, tobacco scent.

2016 version listed at 12.5% bit they told me first few kegs probably higher abv for some freezing reason. Anyways I wanted this brew for years and made it out to brewery on release day on coldest day in decades which seems quite appropriate. Ruby pour minimal head. Nose is dark fruit light malt and wheat. Tastes of plums, malt, light licorice, dried leaves, cherry, hint of brandy, and grapes. Smooth palate only hint of the huge abv. Drinking litre of this amd 3/4 through not feeling booze yet we will see in morning.

Tap at brewery for eisbock release I know this says retired so hop it’s same recipe. Orange pour. Nose is earthy hops. Tastes of pine, earth, light caramel, bitter for sure, light spice, and some malt. Touch of basement on finish. Overall ok.

Tap at brewery prior to eisbock release. Golden pour nose is grains, yeast, light citrus. Tastes of grains, yeast, lemon, biscuits, peppercorn, slight rubbing alcohol. Overall pleasant though.

Tap at brewery for eisbock release. Yellowish orange small head. Nose is banana, yeast, and cloves. Tastes much of same banana, wheat, yeast, clove, bubblegum, candy. Nice palate. Tasty

12 ounce bottle. Translucent brown pour topped by a small creamy beige head. Unusual aroma of yeast, wheat and cocoa. Tangy malt with roasted notes. Quite unusual as Bavarian style wheat beers go. Some overripe banana in finish.

New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle: pours close to black with a beige head. Aroma is light chocolate, fruit, and sour malt. I do not know if this is actually supposed to be like that or if it be spoiled. In any case it tasted like a dunkelweizen then had a bland and weak sour finish. Not a huge fan.

tap . Pours dark , clear brown . No real head . Smell is a bit sweet . Taste is bitter chocolate, malty , yeasty a bit as well . Taste is intense, malty and sweet in the back . Way more intense ( way better ) than I expected .

Bottle thanks to John C. Pours clear yellow gold with white head. Nose/taste of peppercorn, malt, lemon and stone fruits and light doughy bread. Medium body.
