Bottle. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Cloudy dark brown with an enormous fluffy beige head. Pleasant aroma of caramel, toasted malt, somewhat roasty, fruit esters and a bit of spiciness. Sweetish flavor with malt, caramel, toastiness, yeast, fruits, light tartness and a toasty/roasty and somewhat spicy finish. Way over-carbonated. Decent but too fizzy. Gets to be pretty nice once the carbonation settles. Started at 3.1, turned into 3.3.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 1/14/13
Aroma: The nose has the standard mix of wheat, banana, and clove
Appearance: It pours a hazy golden color with a small white head and some light lace
Flavor: The taste is fairly sweet, and pretty much the same as the nose component-wise
Palate: The body is fairly light, it has a fairly lively carbonation, and a decent drinkability
Overall Impression: I thought this beer was right on-style, and fairly well-made, but not too much more then that. Solid stuff.

POPE, Philly tap ($5): Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is banana, candy, wheat, and more candy. Taste is straight bubblegum and lots of it. It is kind of sweet, but definitely not as sweet as some other weizen bocks out there. Very easy to drink. I enjoyed it.

Location: Draft at Texas Arizona, 1/3/13
Aroma: The nose has a lot going on, wheat, clove/winter spices, banana, and raisin to name a few
Appearance: Pours a dark amber-brown color with a soapy beige head and medium lace
Flavor: It is medium sweet, much like the nose, fairly complex, with lots of spice/clove flavors
Palate: It has a medium-plus body, a tingly feel, and average-plus carbonation
Overall Impression: This one was served way too cold, and really needed to warm up to develop, but that's not the beer's fault. Anyway, I thought this was quite solid, with a nice amount of complexity. Good stuff.
