Very cloudy orange yellowish pour in the glass. Full of distinct nose of nuts, flowers, resins, herbs and toast. Taste is a banana wheat. Body is a little on the light side. Rated 12/30/99 I should point out that this is one of the most inconsistent beers I’ve ever had. I’ve had batches of it that I’d rate as low as 2.0. My rating above is the beer in it’s heyday many years ago.

Nice dark pour. Nose and taste is bourbon, deep malts, molasses, brown sugars, barley and grains. Rated 11/15/2000

Handbottle generously traded by ditmier. Pours with a very small head over an amber tinged brown body. Some alcohol legs. Aroma of banana, alcohol, toffee, caramel, estery with some chocolate. Taste is alcohol, chocolate, light clove, and banana. Syrupy mouthfeel, light bubbles, a bit of alcohol.

From Ditmier; Nose of bananas, cloves, bubblegum, and faint dark chocolate. Clear dark brown with cherry highlights and a very small beige head. Flavor is overripe bananas, light sweetness, caramel, and light spiciness. Damn fine eisbock!

31st May 2008. Dark bock - almost black. Mildlt toasted malt. Banana and other fruits that defy description. Smooth and a bit different.

(Draught) Reddish brown and clear. Small white head. Grassy aroma. Medium bodied palate with medium carbonation. Malts, bitterness, grass and caramell in taste. Malty and bitter aftertaste. Nice märzen and easy to drink as Oktoberfestbier should be,

Picked up a growler of this at Big Z Beverage in Huntington NY. Pours a hazy, orange amber with a spitty white head. Grainy, malty, nutty aroma that has some slight fruits and crackers. Flavor was fruitier than I imagined, very sweet, malty flavors, caramel, some biscuit. Finish was dry. Pleasant and very drinkable. Not my favorite Maibock/Heller but good none the less.

Hazy deep brown coloured body - thick and heavy with no head at all. Aroma of wheat, brown sugar and light nutmeg spice. Medium-bodied; Sharp roasted malt flavoured body with a mild spice flavour and very little else. Aftertaste shows malt and some spices, not much else. Overall, an alright dunkel - definitely not a ’classic wheat’ by any sense of the word, but a good beer to try, regardless of that. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from K&E Discount Beverage in New Paltz, New York on 25-March-2006.

Nice super hazy orange coloured body with a very thin white head. Nearly opaque - nice! Aroma of peaches, apricots, wheat, yeast, coriander seed and some canned corn too! Medium-bodied; Strong wheatie taste with a light citrus taste and a prominent coriander seed flavour. Aftertaste shows the canned corn and the sweetness from curacao. Overall, a nice wheat - a bit still, but a good one for the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 26-December-2005.
