Re-rate 11/16: Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks troubles. Clear copper. Aroma of malt, toast, minerals, dust. Sweetish flavor, malty, with a bit of caramel, toast, minerals, graininess, and bitterish earthy hops. Medium-bodied. 5/3/6/3/11=2.8
Bottle sample at a tasting. Clear amber color. Earthy hops, a bit of flowers and a bit of caramel in the aroma. Sweetish caramelly flavor with nice juicy, rather earthy, bitterness with some citric notes. Medium-bodied. Pleasant. Later update: now I feel a bit of graininess in the aroma. 7/3/7/3/14=3.4

Half pint, fresh and kicking cask, hand pulled at Aikman’s Cellar Bar in St Andrews. Deep, dark amber body under a small skinny strip of foam. Malt-fruity smell. Hints of caramel malts that works pretty well together with an underlying throughout going bitterness. Dry and easy to drink [04.11.2008].

aroma: honey, sweet malts, chocolate. appears amber, smooyh thick not that large head. flavor is strange. toffee/chocolate, smooth, alc or hops make a rather brutal bitter end.

500ml Bottle - Amber in colkour. Vanilla and rhubabe in the aroma. Sweet rhubarb taste with some vanilla notes and light malt. Has the potential to be good but this is rather sickly.

Bottle. Clear amber with plenty of off white head. Distinctive aroma, predominantly vanilla. medium body with plenty of carbonation. Flavour predominantly rhubarb and vanilla with slightly bitter fiinish. Interesting beer and very drinkable, altough the confectionary taste was rather unusual.

Cask-conditioned at the Swan, Tockington Gloucs 20/5/08. Reddish amber with no head. Red fruit and caramel aroma with a touch of earthy hops. Easy drinking, with a sweetish flavour, some spicy hops and a good bitter finish. Surprisingly good for a GK beer.

[500ml bottle from Asda, High Wycombe] A weak head, slight fizz, no flavour other than a horrible bitter and sour aftertaste that lingers for long afterwards. Quite simple one of the worst British ales I’ve ever had.
