26/XII/23 - 33cl bottle from a trade, shared @ home, BB: 10/VII/25, L2305G042PN (2023-1194) Thanks to Renno for the trade!
Clear red brown beer, small creamy beige head, a little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of liquorice star anise, more black liquorice, some caramel malts, aniseed, cloves. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a little bitter up front, pretty dry, some caramel, very spicy, more aniseed, other spices. Aftertaste: very spicy, cloves, aniseed, bitter finish. Not a big fan. Wouldn’t mind having had at least some sweetness in the beer, I mean, if you want to make a cookie flavoured beer.

Smaak ebt snel weg.

0.33 l bottle from 'HEMA' (Den Bosch), best before July 2025. Almost clear, deep ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently spicy aroma of caramel, gingerbread and nuts. Fairly sweet, malty, moderately bitter, quite spicy taste of caramel, gingerbread, nuts and some chocolate, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Interesting beer, definitely well-brewed, quite outspoken 'pepernoten' flavours. Quite tasty actually, but surely not to everyone's liking.

Bottle. Clear brown. Cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, caramel, alcohol, dry wood. Medium sweet and bitter. Slick body. Not really pepernoten, more cardamom. Not amazing.
