Description
Two Roads Brewing Company was founded in 2012 by four friends who dreamed for years of starting a craft brewery. We foster a “road less traveled” philosophy in the beers we make and how we make them. In that spirit, Phil Markowski, our award-winning Brewmaster and 27 year craft beer veteran has created an extensive lineup that takes a unique twist on classic beer styles. Two Roads was named one of the ten best breweries in America by Paste Magazine and has won many awards including gold for Belgian Lambic style Ale in 2016 at the Great American Beer Festival.
Two Roads isn’t just the logo on our brewery building, it’s our philosophy. Life always seems to offer up two ways to go. It just so happens, we prefer the one less taken and having some fun along the way – in our lives, our careers and especially for our beers! Now our “road less traveled” philosophy is being brought to life in the beers that we create and how we create them.

On draught at EBF, 3/22/14.
Moderately cloudy, pale golden body is topped by a small, somewhat short-lived white head.
Nose is full of brett and lacto biproducts. Certainly some enjoyable brett acids in there with a strong lactic presence adding cheesey funk and lots of musty cellar notes. The whole crew seems present here; horseblanket, lemons, limes, leather, etc...Pretty interesting nose, good strength to it.
The brett and lacto flavors noted in the nose jump out in the flavor, right away, but are soon joined on the end by a plethora of funky flavors that are less than desirable. Strong presence of celery, lettuce, sweaty gym socks, cooked carrots, tons of mold and black pepper notes. Really an endless supply of dirtiness and veggies. The base beer was a bit lackluster as well, having been borderline overattenuated leading to a rather weak texture/mouthfeel. Still, the aroma and initial flavor are spot on for a Belgian lambic, just too many undesirable critters in there as well.

Draught, small glass, at Schouskjelleren. Pale yellow coloured body, close to clear. Tiny layer at the top, lacing rings down the glass. Fresh fruity aroma joined by wheat. Wheat, peach and fresh apricot to the flavour character. Fresh bittersweet endnotes. Oily palate. Soft in the mouth. Medium bodied. A quite moreish drink (Oslo 28.03.2014).
