Bottled. Almost black, just a hint of brown. Light brown, small head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Short flavor with a bitter and roasted aftertaste. Quite thin for a stout. I found this a bit disappointing from Denmarks largest micro. Hope it’s not because it was 3 weeks past BB-date. (051130)

Thanks to Madsberg for this! 2004 bottle, refrigerator stored. Pours with a large creamy head that breaks into big bubbles as it subsides. Caramel aroma. The flavor starts with some sweetness to it with some spicy tartness coming in for the finish. Not bad, but not one of my favorites either.

Draught. Weak aroma with a hint of vomit. Black colour. The head is big, stable, creamy and light brown. Mild, dusty coffee flavour. Nice creamy mouthfeel.

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, clear dark amber with a handsome beige coloured head. Rather neutral aroma - perhaps with a wee touch of juniper. Quite a dry body with vague hints of caramel malt. As it warms the juniper become more evident. But overall this beer lacks character and balls. 081105

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy amber with tiny, floating particles. Small, off-white head. Vinous aroma with distinctive alcohol. Full-bodied with notes of sherry - perhaps even cognac - and overripe plums. Warming alcoholic finish - a true sipping beer. 291005

Bottle. Dark copper colour, small head. Very malty, some bonbon and some aroma hops. Bonbon aftertaste. Peppery. Bitterness is not high, but a little rough.
One year later, bottle again. Still the same rating, nothing has changed. Seems quite unbalanced and probably could use a year or two more.

Bottled 50cl
Opaque black, decent creamy coffee head. Roasted nose. Coffee fruity, hints of tar, medium bodied. Roasted malts in the finish, some unbalanced yeast flavors. Simple stout but drinkable.

Draught at Plan B. Cloudypale amber. Aroma of honey and grass. Sweet with medium-full body and some almond character. Well balanced with notes of orange, curacao and honey. Technically near perfect, but lacking "it".

(On tap) Dark golden with a nice, creamy head. Very distinct aromas of yeast and alcohol. Tons of malt in here and spices - coriander? Very alcoholic. Appears filteres - a bit unusual for it’s style. 290705

(Bottle 50 cl) An attempt at making a Danish abbey beer - and at least you gotta respect the innovative thoughts. But I’m not overly excited by the outcome. Reddish brown and hazy with a beige head. The beer is overwhelmingly dry and bitter with a marked impression from the bouquet of odd spices they put together for this brew. Weirdly the flavour I get the clearest is ginger, although that is not added. I find the spicing too much and rather inharmonious. Like unsweetened cough syrup. Interesting perhaps, but.... 041204
