Pretty black it tis. Not seeing light through it. Good frothy head of foam with lacing.

Roasty with dark chocolate and a strange other bitter smell.

Roasted malt with bitter chocolate, hints of fruit when I swish the beer in my mouth. Again, there’s something going on with that bitterness that’s off putting to me me.

Okay mouthfeel.

Good brew of the style to get me a Black and Tan style entry. Not something I would bother to buy again.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s in Davis, CA. Pours orange gold with a slight white head. Aroma is earth and citrus over mild roast malt. Med body. Flavor is earthy citrus, some bitter, some slightly roasty malt. It has quite a hop bite. Finishes well towards dry and pretty hoppy/bitter. Good entry for a session IPA.

Aroma: citrus, caramel, Appearance: light amber, hazy, white foam, Taste: medium sweetness, lightly bitter, Palate: medium body, creamy, average carbonation, bitter finish, Decent.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s in a mixer sixer. Pours a deep orangish brown appearance with a light brown head. The aroma is mostly toasted pumpkin / squash, some caramel, bread, and only light spices. Medium light body. Moderately spicy. Flavor has some orange citrus, toast, lemon, vanilla, allspice, cinnamon, and a moderate amount of pumpkin. Thankfully, the spices aren’t overdone but the beer is still a bit thin and not all that flavorful.

Medium gray-brown head. Opaque black body shows hazy dark red light at edges. Roasty floral aroma is faint, with traces of rubber boot (no, seriously). Dry earthy roasty soy sauce taste with toasted sugar notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish earthy mealy soy sauce aftertaste with rubbery notes. Well. It’s ok. (0.355l bottle, from Fish & Beer, Copenhagen.)

Good double porter. Light roast malt with almost a doppelbock kind of feel. Pours black with good head and lacing. Dark chocolate, caramel. Tap at Rattle and Hum.

Very dark copper, thick light beige head. Roasted, wet malt aroma. Light, dry mouthfeel. Roasted aroma, faint, fruity and smokey notes. Dry and light bitter finish.

Bottle. Pour cloudy nearly black with small but stable light tan head. Dark aroma of coffee, malt and caramel with some subtle roasty notes. Bitter, roasty flavour, complemented by sweetish notes of caramel malt and touches of coffee. Roasty and bitter aftertaste with notes of yeast. Decent, albeit just medium-bodied.

Bottle. Bready and dusty aroma, smells a lot like a milk stout. Almost black colour, seems clear. Big stable creamy light brown head. The flavour is bready, slightly vinous, sweetish. Not a dry stout in my book, but perhaps not sweet enough to be a milk stout, either.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Black colour, moderate to low tan head. Slightly sweetish and mildly roasty aroma, hints of creamy coffee and chocolate. Dry roasty flavour, notes of cold coffee. Drinkable, but not remarkable.
