Bottle. Clear golden, white lace. Lovely fresh grassy, kiwi aroma. Medium body, mellow sparkly chewy. Grassy forward, kiwi skin, herbal and chalky grassy, almost north german pils bitterness. Quite sticky bitter on the palate, but fresh hops overall.

Red amber color. Slight apple aroma. Medium bodied. Hopbitter, apricot flavor with some caramel. Bitter and fruity aftertaste. Re-rate: Just a hint of smoke in the background. I like this beer more and more. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Dunkel Rauchbier on 17 Sep 2009 at 13:02 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Original review text: Enjoyed @ the brewery, in the presence of Herr Scheubel, the old brewer, himself. The brewer just calls it festbier. It is probaly a new recipe, instead of the ’old’ festbier. Amber color. Malty aroma with cookie dough and the slightest hint of smoke. Fat smoked sausage flavor, malty, softly smoked with hints of tobacco, lingering on in the aftertaste. Indeed comparable with some other rauchbeers brewed in the Franconian countryside. Good!!

Bottle @Les Vignerons (Rome). Bruna, intensa, schiuma avorio abbondante e persistente. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione medio-leggera. Gradevole.

“Stern-Bräu Vollbier“, Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Etwas dunkleres Goldgelb, klar. Ausgezeichnet.

Gravity cask @FrankenBierFest (Rome). Pours golden with a medium and persistent head. Aroma of cereals, bread, malt, lemon. Flavour is easy, simple, balanced, a bit thin. Light body, medium carbonation. A bit poor...
