Bottle 50cl. @home poured into a footed pilsner glass. Clear brown colour, tall creamy off-white head, good retention, fair lacing. Aroma smoked and roasted malts, smokey, smoked meat, caramel, retronasal smokiness. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, smokey, caramel, burnt sugar, light coffee notes. Medium bosy, oily to creamy texture, malty and smokey sweetbitter aftertaste, light burnt sugar, lingering smokiness till the end, really good rauchbier.

On tap at HopDog with my dog on the way; freshly tapped. Clear golden amber with a massive lasting head. Crunchy, nutty-earthy malty backbone, the bitterness is big like a Pils and super smooth. Really nice!

11th October 2021; Biererei Bar & Vintage Cellar, Berlin. A bit of a session. Second beer was this (on-tap). Red hue to the brown body, so kind of chestnut in colour, off-white head. Malty and earthy, didn't get any smokiness at all, not in the aroma or taste. Wouldn't have bought it if I'd known it was supposed to be a Rauchbier, so really pleased I didn't find any smoke like esters or flavours. I thought this a very pleasant Fest Beer actually.

Bottle down at SMOD courtesy of Dann and Martha. Cheers. Glorious bad breath sourness with a pile of bitter hops. Quenching and dry. Perfect natural mouthfeel. Glorious.

Flaska från Landbierparadis. Klar gyllengul vätska med högt kritvitt stabilt skum. Doft av säd, hö och gräs. Rejäl kropp, lätt sötma, honung, säd, bröd. Krispig munkänsla och rejäl gräsig beska med maskros. Lång besk eftersmak. Fin balans och fina smaker. Mycket gott

On tap at Hopdog, München, Friday 11th June 2021 in the company of Jonas and Ursula. We are sat outside it's been a lovely day. Pours gold, white head, quite bitter, very hoppy, dry, grassy hops, this is a lovely beer, in fact a really lovely beer and would end up being the best of the night.

Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is papery malts, on the sweet side. Taste is sweet malts, some noble hops, a bit rustic in the back, moreish butter. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Decent! 7-3-7-4-15
Tap. Very Pilsnerish-bitter, but in a barnyardy way. Pretty damn good!

Bottle. Chestnut color with off-white head. Aroma is nutty, chocolate, nice earthiness too, also a bit smoke. Taste is nutty, chocolate, brownie-like, again smoky. Thick chewy mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Very nice actually!
Tap: Smokier, also more drinkable. Very good!

Stern-Bräu Festbier, Flasche per Post vom Landbierparadies. - Sehr dunkles, undurchsichtiges Kastanienbraun; üppiger dunkler Schaum. - In der Nase sattes, schweres dunkles Malz mit deutlicher aber nicht dominierender rauchiger Note, ein wenig geräucherte Makrele, Mokka, schwere Karamelsüße und leichte Zitrone. - Antrunk schwer und kernig dunkelmalzig mit intensiver Röstigkeit (angebrannte Brotkruste), Schwarzwälder Schinken und Espresso, nur dezenter Bonbonsüße und feiner zitrusfruchtige Hopfung. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Unerwartet leichter Abgang mit feiner herbaler Hopfenherbe und schwachen holzigen Noten. - Wuchtiges, malzschweres Rauchmärzen, das sich als schlichtes Festbier tarnt. Aus der Flasche schwerer und rauchiger als vom Faß (9.5.2018, vor Ort), wo mir nur eine ganz leichte Rauchnote aufgefallen war. (9.3.2021.)

Fresh bottle. Dark chestnut brown, lovely red shine, golden brown lacing cream. Nutty, light coffeeish roast and smoke aroma. Medium to full mellow dry body, coffee and dry caramel roast, pleasant herbal hops, chewy mouthfeel, woodsmoke retronasal. Very pleasant and quite drinkable.
