This is a cask lager – so cask at Waters Green Tavern, Macclesfield. Pours a pale straw with a small frothy almost white head. There’s biscuits and lemon in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite sharp with citrus, lemon and grains plus bready and pine hints. Finish is slightly dry. Not my sort of beer at all – but then cask lagers generally aren’t.

24/8/2023. Cask at the 44th Peterborough Beer Festival. Pours clear bright golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, grass, malt, flowers. Moderate sweetness, quite heavy bitterness. Medium body, oily, average to soft carbonation. Enjoyable.

24/8/2023. Cask at the 44th Peterborough Beer Festival. Pours clear pale gold with a large frothy white head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, lemon, lemongrass, grass. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, light tartness. Moderate body, slightly watery, average carbonation. Nice long bitterness to finish which I liked. Good.

Cask at Flowerpot, Derby. Pours a very pale yellow with minimal white head and good lacing. The aroma is sweet and malty. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy, but a little bitterness creeps in later. Flavour has grains, corn and malts, with some floral hops coming through after a while. Finish is bitter and quite sticky. Quite decent but the finish ruined it for me.

Gravicask, 1/3 pint at GBBF Winter '23. Shared with Finn. Bubbly white head over a clear golden body, clingy lacing. Lemony hops and grainy aromas. Impacts of grapefruit and lemony hops to the flavour profile. Drying close, ripe fruity bitterness to it. Likeable. (Burton upon Trent, 17.02.2023).
