Pours a very light amber, relatively cloudy per style, with a quite big white head; good enough retention, limited lacing. Average to slightly below average intensity in the aroma: cereals, white bread, a bit of yeast reminiscence, hints of honey and a very light fruitish hint. Taste still quite mild, as the aroma suggested: soft/white bread, a hint of caramel and honey, a yeasty touch, perhaps a hint of diacetyl, very light fruitish hints (apple). Medium sweetness, quite low bitterness, a sweet edge in both taste and aftertaste, overall still decently balanced with a dry enough finish/aftertaste. Low to medium bodied, slightly below average carbonation; feels overall a little fuller than most kellers, maybe with a bit of yeasty/chewy component that gives a very light creamy feel. Overall: quite rustic but not fully accomplished.

Almost clear dark golden beer with a white head. Aroma of biscuit malt, caramel, wet straw. Taste of mid sweet caramelized malt, biscuit, hints of honey, spices. Moderate bitterness.

Bottle @ Landbierparadies, Nürnberg. Pours unclear amber orange with a small White head. Rustic and hoppy nose. Grass with a touch of farmhouse. Bready malts that gets sweeter and more prominent as it warms. A Sweet honey slight toffee note appears in the late end when it warms telling me that its not entirely clean. Same feeling as when I visited the brewery in 2017. So much potential bit still a tad unclean . .

Ungrooder Achter aus der Brauerei Thomann, Wiesen, Flasche von Hopfen & Malz im Wedding. - Helles Goldbraun, trüb. - In der Nase fettes, fein honigsüßes helles Malz, leicht karamellig, gekonnt ausbalanciert durch solide hopfenwürzige Herbe mit Dörrobst und mediterranen Kräutern. - Antrunk schwer und dicht hellmalzig mit satter Honigsüße, lebhafter Hopfung mit gedämpfter Orangenschale, Trockenaprikose und Bitterlikör, weich und rund zusammengebunden. Milder rezent, breit; gut kaschierter Alkohol. Im Abgang gute, leicht krautige Hopfenherbe. - Sehr schöner, satt malzschwerer aber auch fränkisch-aromatisch gehopfter, runder Bock mit Wiedererkennungswert. (15.6.2022.)

At bierfestival Bad Staffelstein. Hazy yellow to light orange color with a large frothy white head. Smell and taste wheat, moderately banana-citrus yeasty, suitable decent body, medium carbonation. Alright. 7-3-7-3-12.

At bierfestival Bad Staffelstein. 0.5 liters at 10.30 in the morning while I'm still hurting from yesterday and the day before...but all the locals are doing it so I will try to blend in. Almost clear oange-golden color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste malts, malty bitter, grainy a bit. Decent body, firm carbonation. Mwah. 6-3-6-3-10.

Litre swing top bottle, filled by the brewer. Light amber color. Malty flavor with hints of licorice and mint. pretty well hopped, you can notice it especially in the aftertaste. Full bodied, likeable local beer. The tiny village of Wiesen near Staffelstein has tweo breweries, only brewing for locals and guests (there’s also a Gasthaus). Visit them before it is too late!

On tap at Bad Staffelstein BF 2019. Hazy orange gold colour. banana some esters. simple basic weizen. not too interesting. ok.
