A deep dark porter with a very thin moka head. Loads of bitter chocolate, coffee grinds, rather raw and a bit off. In mouth, a smooth porter with good bitterness, yet smooth, light vanilla, nice. On tap at Boston Beer Summit, April 16 2011.

Growler pours courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours pure gold with off white head. The aroma is a mix of lemon, apple, spice and apricot all sort of blending together. The taste has spicy yeast notes along with un-ripe apricot, apples and a slice or two of pear. Pretty nice.

Sampled from the tap at NotB. Poured near black with a grayish brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had notes of chocolate, earthy grains and earthy roasted malts with a wood backing. Flavor had roasted malts with a nice complementing chocolate note and a bit of barrel in the finish.

Sampled from the tap at NotB. Poured a slightly hazy yellowish gold with a white head that dissipated completely. Aroma had notes of grains and earthiness with a bit of backing grassy hop and barrel. Flavor started with grain and bread with a growing pine/ grass hop and just a bit of underlying barrel. Nothing special.
