06/2017 @home - 50cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Black colour with small light tanned head. Nose is roasted malts, sweetness, candi sugar. Taste is roasted malts, some sweetness, rhum, touch of caramel, some licorice. Nice already but a bit thicker would make it great!

Small cream head over hazy cola-coloured beer. Chocolates, filled with amandine/rosewater, marzipan. First sweet, a bit roasted-bitterish flavour, then immediately sourish. Finish returns to bitterish-sweet. Perfumey flavours with more rosewater, but also slightly sourish fruit. Again some chocolate, bit oxydized cookies, speltbread, bark. Rather well-bodied, bit oily. Good carbonation; reasonably long-lasting flavours. Three main taste colours present, but not in balance. Bizarre seems a correct assessment.

Gushing to towering pink, irregular head, stable over hazy cyclamen beer. Fruity nose (cherry?), with some herbs/spices, faintly peppery, but also arachide... fatty acids. Bitter fruit (Tim says overripe strawberries - I’m thinking of force-grown ones, with the white tops), arachide, tisane - hibiscus, no doubt. Sourish finish. Light body, sticky head, obviously well-carbonated. Something went wrong here, all the signs pointing towards infection.

75 cl bottle bought al La Birroteca, Alcalá de Henares, Spain; served in Leffe chalice. To begin with, a statement: it surprises me a bit to find a quadrupel that is only 8%, but then again, what do I know. It pours very dark brown with some hazel-hued blazings and a thick tan head that diminishes quickly but has a last mm with very good retention. Aroma is quite mild for an abt, but nice: cocoa, cherry, vanilla, candied sugar, cola pop, leather, cigar box. Taste begins quite sweetish, then very fresh sour and some metallic tinges. No bitterness, not very long-lasting. Creamy and soft. OK, all in all, even though it’s a little pricey.

Bottle @ Nuetnigenough. Dark colour, creamy foam. Nose of dark fruit, caramel, some roastiness. Malty, light fruity tartness. Indeed a bizarre brew.
