Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours hazy ruddy/blueish with a beige head. Aroma of tart dark berries with a definite underlying sour note. Med body or so. Flavor is dark berry, seemingly including blueberry, and there's moderately musty wood and at least moderately sourness. Rather refreshing stuff.

Bottle from Perry's Liquors in Livermore, CA. Pours hazy blood orange with a large foamy off-white head. Light berry aroma that's a bit tart. Med body or so. Flavor is tart, but not strongly so; also a bit sour, but only moderately so. There's something like grape must - more red than white - so the skins were surely in the barrels. :) Definitely a little oak astringency. Wood. Dry. Tasty. A very approachable sour ale.

Can from Corti Bros. Pours apricot tinged translucent gold with a white head. Intense citrus aroma over slightly cooked caramel. Approaching full body. Very smooth/slick in the mouth. Flavor is very, very citrus. There's caramel support which has a cooked aspect - not a problem - the hop level needs a lot of malt. The citrus burn isn't as strong as I'd expected - but it's present. Overall this ale stands a bit apart from most. The can indicates 9 hops - some of which are exotic, and maybe the part I'm having trouble pinning down is a bunch of confused tropicals. I'm also wondering whether the 8.1 ABV on the can should have been 9.1. My head begins to spin a bit. Really interesting, flavorful, and tasty ale. Cue yummy sounds.

Can from Cap Tap. Pours translucent gold with a white head. Aroma is dankish fruit with some citrus/pine. Med + body. Flavor is dankish - maybe more herb than citrus pine, and the fruit is now in the back ground. Quite dry. Quite hoppy in a green way and it's exceedingly, pleasingly bitter - nice bite, but not at all harsh. The green begins to seem more pine than herb. Very good.

Can from Corti Bros. ours translucent gold with a white head. Juicy aroma - pale stone and tropical fruits. Med body or so. It's juicy, juicily undry, hoppy and decently bitter. Fruit could be citrus and papaya and green melon. Difficult for me to parse. Tastes good tho.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours translucent copper with a beige head. Funky, fruity, moderately sour aroma. Med body. Funky, fruity, woody and moderately sour. The fruit seems tropical, but the only one I can parse is papaya. Tasty sour.

Bottle from the Davis Food Co-Op. Pours translucent coppery/gold with some white bubbles. Aroma is sour fruit - peach seems dominant. Med body or so. It is quite sour. There is the flavor of peaches and cranberry seems to be adding something. Rather bitingly acidic, but the flavor is decent.

Nitro at Flaming Grill in West Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with a nitro tan head. Chocolate aroma that’s a bit sweet. Med plus body. Flavor is slightly earthy milky, darkish chocolate. Not too sweet; not really bitter; just earthy. Pleasing.
