Pitch black color. Light brown head. Massive vanilla, oak and coconut nose, with dark fruit and some chocolate in the background. Never smelt so much coconut in a BA Imp Stout. So much coconut and vanilla notes, very light body, unbelievable for 10%, lots of dark fruit and bitter chocolate underneath the bourbon. So smooth and rich. Could use a bit more body, but otherwise this shit rocks. The oak, vanilla and coconut just linger forever. Wonderful.

Aroma is tropic fruit, some floral hops, no resin. Quite dry, only a little of everything. Nice fine bubbled mouthfeel. Not bad.

Lots of coffee, very bitter. A little phenolic. Smooth finish. Some cherries maybe. Too bitter for me.

On tap at Aldgate as Aldgate Porter. Still not 100% sure if this is Swan Lake or Sankt Gallen. Pours dark brown, small beige head. Medium roastiness, dark chocolate, coffee, sweetish. Medium bodied. Decent.

Bottle thanks to Mick! Looks like a best by 15/3/23. Not sure how old this is, but not old I reckon. Maybe not retired. Pours a dark brown color black almost with a small beige head. A nice nose of ash, bourbon and vanilla. Some heat. The flavor is surprisingly way cooler than the regular version I just had, bourbon, vanilla, I get a peppery bite, some anise, dark fruit. This is very good. Huge cocoa finish. Thin palate. Actually that finish is more coconut than anything, probably just a very sweet bourbon.

Bottle thanks to Mick. Pours a pitch black color with a large brown head, very thick but goes down a bit. A big roasty nose, dark fruit, some hot alcohols. The flavor is licorice, roast, a dark ashy chocolate. Very big beer, fairly hot. Not a sugary sweet Impy here, but a big roasty metallic one, and it is great. Lovely beer. Maybe a bit hot, but otherwise good.
