Tap at Osaka-jo Craft Beer Holiday 2018. Nutty, cinnamon nose with lime and graham crackers. Lightly spicy, nice lime without it being too much, lovely graham cracker malt flavor. A very fun, original beer.

very deep hibiscus (I guess) yeasty, slightly tart nose. Light carbonation with good deep blood orange and hibiscus notes but some butter popcorn jumps into the equation which is less than pleasant. Modest tartness but felt it was directionless sour but not particularly bad tasting.

Tap KBC. Pale opaque gold with a lactic aroma that features lots of toejam and yoghurt. The taste is acidic lactic and sour but a bit more balanced than other sours I’ve had lately. I find it smells strongly sour but drinks like a medium bodied well balanced sour. Good stuff, it grew on me though I didn't get anything noticeably hoppy from it.

Draft @ Brew La La, Shinbashi. Pours quite dark brown, not really black but going to that direction. Just a few bubbles of foam on top. Aroma is quite faint, I am getting some very light fruits (which could be strawberry, not sure) and also watery toffee character, light cocoa dust. Does not really feel like a saison. Taste has also some toffee, very dry and super thin-bodied. Drinkes easy but again, would have liked some more character and maybe a bit sturdier feel. Bitterness is low and saison yeast character is also nowhere to be seen. Meh.

Tap at CBM Lucua. Medium orange, glowing, light haze, with a low, fine, thick head. Nose is honey, orange, Belgian yeast, spicy, wheat biscuits. Sweet start, rather dry finish. Light and crisp, with light honey notes. Clean and subtle.

Bottle. Light brown pour, not that much carbonation there. Nose is quite boozy, lots of vanilla and some lightly sweet dried yellow stone fruits. Toffe and caramel candy diluted in some clean vodka with raisins. Tastes sweet, dried apricot and raisins, boozy kick and light booze bitterness coming up in the finish. Vanilla and these dried fruits give some dessert characteristics, would probably work nicely with a vanilla icecream float. As it is now, quite nice but lacks in complexity, also relatively light bodied (which is still pretty amazing for 11%).

Tap @ iBREW Shinbashi. Pours dark red, reddish brown with light beige head. Nose has some malty grainy feel to it, also some spice. Rye? Bready feel. Taste is medium bitter, soft and somewhat creamy. Rowan berries coming through, lightly sweetish, quite strong malt character and good bitterness. Finish has some medium length, bitter elements lingering. Decent sturdy red ale, ticks all the boxes I want it to tick.
