Tap at the Swan Lake Pub, Edo. 2015 vintage at their 7th anniversary party. Poured a murky medium brown colour with little life. The aroma is sweet malt, vanilla, boozy alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich smooth, boozy grainy, oaky, light molasses. Full bodied with flat carbonation.

Tap at Maruho Namba. What a surprise! Cloudy, almost muddy brown with lace. Nose is bourbon, vanilla, raisins, chocolate, treacle, ume plums. Complex, woody. Sweet flavor of raisins and plum, vanilla and whiskey, and some cola. Smooth, silky, soft and sweet. Light booziness. Quite lovely.

Tap at IBREW Akihabara, Tokyo. Poured a crystal clear golden colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy malt, floral big hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a malt, gluey, smooth, floral, light metallic, big hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Swan Lake Agano Saison 6% Golden matte copper color with a thick head that didn’t last but left nice lacing hbehind. The peppery aroma has a nice wheat and fruity saison quality. Medium in body with a solid and well balanced saison flavor with a bit of a Koshihikari Rice note too.
