Description

0.75 l bottle from 'AleHub', bottle #137/248, best before May 2023. A little hazy, golden yellow with a few white bubbles on top of it. Sweetish, slightly sourish, gently fruity, a little vinous aroma of ripe apple, vanilla, (white?) wine and light oak. Minimally sweet, slightly sour, fairly dry, gently fruity and a little vinous taste of ripe apple, oak, hay, some wine and a touch of vanilla, followed by a short, slightly tart, fairly woody-dry finish. Thin to medium body, slightly astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Decent Apfelwein, not much influence from the barrel though, less complex than I hoped for.

0.33 l bottle from 'AleHub', bottled in May 2020. Hazy, pale straw yellow with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, fairly vinous-fruity, moderately funky aroma of orange wine, mirabelle, quince and a touch of honey. Slightly sweet, hardly sour, fairly vinous-fruity and a bit funky taste of orange wine, mirabelle, quince, gooseberry, light lemon and traces of honey, followed by a short, moderately tart, quite dry finish. Thin to medium body, slightly astringent and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Lovely, refreshing vinous Weisse, feels mellowed out compared to fresh examples, fairly complex right now. Really good, will miss these guys.
