Description

Brewed with Emmer, an historical grain not often used even in German beers. Overall this is a pretty Belgian-tasting saison, with big bright flavors. Heavily carbonated. One of the most consistent, interesting Deutsch breweries. 💜

Bottle picked up from Bierkiste, München (I think) and consumed at home Friday 27th May whilst cooking a Cauliflower and Red Lentil Dhal from the Simply Raymond cookbook, we're listening to Skeemask - Dial 274. Pours hazy golden color with white head, this looks pretty good actually. The nose suggests a tartness to come, grapey, vibrant and zingy. Taste following a similar trajectory, tangy, zippy, refreshing, very wine like tbh. Nice mouthfeel, good summery beer/wine hybrid, I just wish it were a little bit warmer.

Bottle. Hazy ruby-ish color with off-white head. Pencil powder, almonds, mild cherry, balsamico, minerals. Taste is the same, on the easy-drinking side, not too intense. Sparkly carbonation. Pretty tasty.

0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, bottled in March 2022. Hazy, reddish amber with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, rather fruity and moderately funky aroma of plum, raspberry, lemon and some brett. Slightly sweet, gently sour, rather fruity taste of plum, lemon, raspberry and hibiscus, followed by a short, gently tart, quite dry, moderately funky finish. Thin to medium body, smooth, slightly astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Refreshing and well-balanced Sour, really nice.
