Description

Light amber. Very sour funky aroma. You can taste a lot of unusual flavors that I've not had in a cooked beer, maybe some additional organisms that usually get killed. Veggies and a bit of DMS, definitely a weird one for Flugge.

Bottle at home, thanks to SinH4 for the bottle! Almost a year old, so should have some food yeast notes. Hazy light golden with big white head. Hmmmm, yeah smells like dank pineapple and goat! Bretty Sweaty socks, soft wheat, apricot, orange, dank stinky Brett, earthy, plastic. Then it cleares up a little and has soft malts, and some dank fruity hops. Almost medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied too. Quite OK and interesting, but af first it's really a massive overdose of smelly Brett, could be better with some other bacteria for balance maybe.

0.33 l bottle from 'Beyond Beer', bottled in April 2019. Hazy, purple-ish amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity, a bit sourish, slightly yeasty-spicy aroma of plum, lemon, hay, some clove and a touch of grains. Slightly sweet, a little sourish, quite fruity, moderately yeasty-spicy and a bit grassy taste of lemon, plum, clove, hay and a touch of grains, followed by a short, a little tart, quite dry, gently yeasty-spicy and slightly grassy finish. Medium to full body, minimally astringent and rather effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Well-balanced Saison with a refreshing bite, just a bit over-carbonated.

Orange with a creamy white head that lingers. Aroma is a mix of tropical fruits, spice and cleaning agent. Taste is much better, bittersweet trending bitter at the end, dry, with fruity undertones and a bit of tartness at the end. Quite mild Brett profile. Medium body, watery texture—admirable heft though given the abv. Apart from the flawed aroma, another likable one from this brewery.

12-08-18 // 330ml bottle from the brewery. Unclear orange, small white head. Nose of farmhouse and some Pferdecke with an underlaying grape sweetness. Light bodied drinkig despite 8% ABV. Great Berliner Weisse base with a slighlty bretty aroma and a mild wild acidity. Grains and hay support the belgian saison yeast. Mild wineous notes with some grape fruitiness. Soft sparkling carbonation. Wineous aroma lasts for a while in the mouth. Stunning hybrid!
