Had Stewart airport in Newburgh which didn’t know existed. Cloudy orange gold smallish head. Poured from can. Nose is fruity hops and gin botanical mix. Tastes of juniper and coriander and orange peel, pine and light grapefruit. Lightly bitter and zippy spice.

Jet black, pitch black coloured body with an oily glow and a fairly large four centimetre tall insanely deep brown and oily glow head on top of this one. Aroma of super roasted malt, coffee, earth, alcohol, pitted fruit, leather, licorice, liquid smoke, bourbon and a large dose of molasses - hugely strong in the nose and deeply potent throughout. Full-bodied; Super rich roasted malt flavours dominate with a lot of grain, some dark (80% cacao) chocolate, a lot of soy sauce and smoke notes but some softer fruit notes, such as the pomegranates and a touch of cherry sourness noticeable at the tail end. Aftertaste shows the deep roasty malt flavours with the licorice, but also a ton of chocolate and pitted fruits with a touch of the smoke and a lot of sugars throughout, but still tons of pungency. Overall, a nice and hugely strong beer with a lot of punch and some funky (pomegranate juice) odd flavours that the tastes immediately come through. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bowery), New York on 20-January-2017 for US$10,99 sampled just over two years later on 02-February-2019.
